The stand aesthetically combines wood, metal, and glass in one decorative piece of furniture that is at the same time functional.
The main body of the South Shore TV stand is assembled from EPP certified engineered wood which, being made from recycled wood fibers, is environmentally friendly. The top shelf is actually a platform standing on four silver-finished metal tubes that raise it about 6.5 inches from the main body of the TV stand. The raised platform does not run the entire width of the stand. Instead, it stops short at about 10 inches from both of the latter's edges. Wood sidings enclose an area beneath the platform.
Ample storage area is provided within the main body of the stand. It is divided vertically into three sections, of which the outer two are enclosed with frosted glass doors while the third in the middle is open. The glass panes are tempered, making them strong enough to withstand constant opening and closing. They are framed with wood, but only on their sides, where silver-colored metal handles are fitted.
Each of the sections has two shelves. One is adjustable, which expands your storage options, while the other is fixed and is actually the bottom of the TV stand. There are six holes at the back panel that correspond to each of the shelves, allowing the passage of the cables connecting the different components of your entertainment system.
At the base of the South Shore Furniture Model 45277602 City Life Collection TV Stand are three pairs of bun feet that are colored silver. These are installed in the corners and midway along the width of the stand.
The platform, shelves, and the doorframes are finished in honeydew, while the side panels, including the ones under the top platform, are in charcoal. A variation of this model is one finished completely in chocolate.
Overall dimensions are 23" H x 60" W x 20" D, while the platform is 39.5" W x 19.5" D. It can accommodate flat panel TVs with screens of up to 40 inches.
