Stretching up to six feet wide, the Techcraft BCE72 Sorento Series TV Stand is probably one of the biggest TV stands around. It is designed to be the throne of the princely flat panel TV sets with 82 inches of screen measured diagonally. Since TVs of this size are definitely heavy, the stand is constructed to take loads of up to 200 pounds.
The Techcraft BCE72 is made of a steel frame and tempered glass shelves. The frame is painted black while the glass is tinted also in black, giving the stand an elegant and classy look. The design is modern, consisting of plain straight lines and sharp angles. Owing to this simple design and black color, it can blend seamlessly into any room regardless of whether it is built and decorated along classic or contemporary lines.
There are three glass shelves, with the top extending up to a full 72 inches. Since most 82-inch screen TVs have a width of approximately 72 inches, the Techcraft BCE72 is compatible with most of them.
Beneath the top shelf is an open-air design shelving system consisting of the additional two shelves. These, however, do not extend up to 72 inches but only up to 65. Nonetheless, they still provide ample room for other audiovisual devices that, in addition to the TV set, constitute a total home entertainment system. You can install additional speakers, a Blu-ray disc player, game console, and a cable box or satellite receiver. The open-air design is intended to allow air to circulate around these devices thus keeping them cool even on extended runs.
The glass shelves taper at an angle at the back. This allows the placement of the TV stand in a corner without taking up excessive space behind it. The vertical support of the frame at the back, positioned in the middle rear of the shelves, includes a double barrel wire management panel for a neat and uncluttered arrangement of the connecting cables and wires of the various audiovisual devices.
